My photography style can be defined as casual. I only shoot using natural and available light. I don't use a studio or heavy lighting equipment. Often, using light streaming through a window in your own home works well and so does using your very own back yard! But, if you would prefer another location, somewhere special to you, then we can shoot there! If you don't have a location in mind, I'll be happy to make suggestions : )

Forget the fluff and unnatural posing. I'd rather spend a little time getting to know the real you (if I don't already) and then calmly and patiently work at capturing what makes you beautifully unique; a true representation of your personality. The only way I can do that is to slow down and shoot with my heart as well as my camera.

I look for interesting angles and the perfect natural light. My daughter Brooke is my intern/assistant and with her help, we will direct many of the shots, (making sure they don't look posed!) I believe the really great photos are taken in those moments where traditional photographers would stop shooting and wait for you to "compose yourself".

My passion is to photograph people of all ages and walks of life. I love to take portraits because of the challenge of capturing the "real" person in interesting and unique ways. I also like to shoot in a "photojournalistic" style for parties, concerts or any other special event!

I'm often asked "What should I wear?" The only real rule is that you should wear something real, something you are comfortable in that will allow your personality to show through. Jeans make for fun, modern photos so, wear your jeans! Also, skip the plain white shirt and avoid plaids or thick stripes! Don't forget about your shoes and your bare feet. I often take photos including your feet! I also suggest bringing accessories like a hat, scarf, jewelry etc. and a change of clothes (at least a different shirt). Having a variety of options will obviously help create different "looks" for your photos. One more thing, if this is a couple or family session, we can discuss coordinating colors when we schedule your session. You don't have to match exactly! Coordinating colors will look great but, come on now, how often does your family go out in public all dressed the same? : )
